Basil herb contains up to 0.7% essential oil, flavonoids, tannins, caffeic acid and saponosides. Basil essential oil acts as an anthelmintic. It is also used in folk medicine to stimulate the appetite, as a means to facilitate the elimination of gases and facilitate urination. It is also used externally, for rinsing the throat. It is not recommended to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in children.
